Hebrews 4 verse 13 (kjv)
“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do”.
The word “Secret” only applies to Man. God holds the key to unlock every secret and to unseal that which is concealed. Every covered thing on earth are naked before our God.
Many today indulge in evil of various sorts; they plan and perfect ways to cover such sinful acts. For years, the government, their families, friends and even neighbours are unable to uncover their evil deeds; this makes them rejoice in their smartness (so they think) and their craftiness. They are however ignorant of the fact that there is a God in heaven who sees every Man at everywhere and every time. His eyes scans to and fro the earth, looking and beholding the acts and deeds of mortal men.
A story was once told of how a rapist in bid to molest an innocent lady, locked the door, windows and everywhere possible. Just as he was about to commence the heinous act, the lady told him that he has forgotten to lock a particular place. Amazed, he asked where? The lady replied “heaven” (the windows of heaven). The rapist was convicted and left her.
What are you currently hiding from people (your spouse, family, boss, colleagues, pastor, congregation, friends etc.)? and you believe that it will never be known. May I remind you that God is watching your every step and your every move; He knows your heart and everything you have concealed there.
Have you done something evil in the past which you are still hiding? It is time to acknowledge that your secret is an open scandal before the courts of heaven.
Are you currently doing something great and no one seems to notice you or the impact you make? Never mind. Proverbs 15 verse 3 (kjv) says “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good”. The little acts of kindness, your defence of the helpless and vulnerable, your tearful giving, your secret prayers for others and other different acts of benevolence to God and Man are all noticed and appreciated by the God that sees in secret. He will surely reward you openly very soon.
Some people are well renowned publicly, they are respected and appreciated but they are dangerous in the secret; they do wickedness and conceal it. They are guilty of exploitation, defrauding others, black mail and murder; yet they conceal it. They have lost reverence and fear for the All-knowing God. They have no sense of consciousness or brokenness to surrender unto God. God is watching from afar and every acts and action will be visited at the appropriate time.
As you step out every day, always have this in your consciousness that “God is watching over you”. So, make Him proud by your acts and deeds. Don’t be among the company of those who break his heart with impunity. Don’t be part of those who cause heaven to shed tears. God has planted you on earth for one primary purpose i.e. “to show forth his praise”.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
