II Chronicles 25:5-9 (nkjv)
Moreover, Amaziah gathered Judah together and set over them captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, according to their fathers’ houses, throughout all Judah and Benjamin; and he numbered them from twenty years old and above and found them to be three hundred thousand choice men, able to go to war, who could handle spear and shield. He also hired one hundred thousand mighty men of valour from Israel for one hundred talents of silver. But a man of God came to him, saying, “O king, do not let the army of Israel go with you, for the LORD is not with Israel—not with any of the children of Ephraim. But if you go, be gone! Be strong in battle! Even so, God shall make you fall before the enemy; for God has power to help and to overthrow.” Then Amaziah said to the man of God, “But what shall we do about the hundred talents which I have given to the troops of Israel?” And the man of God answered, “The LORD is able to give you much more than this”.
Amaziah being the king of Judah at that time (see bible verse above) needed to go to war with the children of Seir. He strategically chose and strengthened his armies. He also went ahead to hire mighty men of valour from Israel for a whopping sum of one hundred talents of silver. Remember Jesus was betrayed for just thirty pieces of silver.
After inviting these powerful men of war from Israel, he received an instruction from God that the mighty men of valour from Israel should not join him in the battle against Seir. This news came to him as a shock because he had already committed huge funds in mobilising the armies of Israel. However, the man of God through which God’s message was sent gave him an assurance saying, “the Lord is able to give you much more than this”.
You may have committed some funds, resources, time etc. into a particular project and it seems it is a waste because nothing fruitful or profitable has come out of the project. Never mind, the Lord is able to give you much more than this.
Some have lost their businesses, valuables, contracts, relationships and even relations to the Covid-19 pandemic. Others have lost their jobs, empires and properties. You might have even lost opportunities or something of great value, but I believe God for you as you are reading this post that “the Lord is able to give you much more; much more than the money, contracts, opportunities and whatever you have lost”.
Remember that there is hope for a life full of breath.
Friends, remember that no matter what you have gone through or what you are going through, God is able to give you much more. You may even be in tears, in pains or in shame right now; it doesn’t change God’s ability to bring transformation and restoration to your life. When God steps in and changes your story, it will look like a dream. Psalm 126 vs 1 says “When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream”.
The year 2020 is already laced with pockets of sad news here and there, but the remaining days ahead are filled with great and good news. Never lose your faith, never lose your hope and don’t ever forget the promises of God for your life. Don’t lose sight of the testimonies you already have. Stop murmuring, stop complaining and start confessing positive things over your life.
Claim the promises of God and personalise them. You must never give quitting a chance. Your victory is close, I can feel it, your story will change I know it, your recovery is here and I celebrate it.

I love this – “when God restores, you get much more.” So many times when we pray for things and think that we know what we need, but God’s answers are so much bigger and better!
Yes, His answers are surely beyond what we expect.
