Your Timothy is Coming

Whatever be the case, always remember that God loves you and He is interested in every area of your life (relationship inclusive). God’s plan for you is still valid, He has not deleted you from His agenda. Though your heart bleeds, His heart is still beating to bless you and He will. Your TIMOTHY IS HERE.

Philippians 2 vs. 19-24 (NKJV)

19But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be encouraged when I know your state. 20 For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. 21 For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus. 22 But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father he served with me in the gospel. 23 Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it goes with me. 24 But I trust in the Lord that I myself shall also come shortly.

“But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly” – As you wait on God for your life partner, do know that anyone you decide to spend your life with should be from the Lord Jesus as His gifts are always the best. The Lord was interested in the ‘’waiting Philippians’’ and sent Timothy to them. You may have waited for so long, but the voice of the Spirit is that your Timothy will come shortly.

“that I also may be encouraged when I know your state”God wants you to be happy, your unhappiness does not give Him joy. This is because we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses (Hebrews 4 vs. 15). God wants the best for you.

But why must it be Timothy?-For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state”. The world is in want of good men. It takes only a man recommended by the Father to care for you wholeheartedly and lovingly. God is preparing someone for you who is like-minded (i.e. your thoughts of Christ are in tune and your convictions align). Someone who will always be in harmony and congruency with you even in the face of seeming difficulties.

The man, Timothy was a round peg in a round hole for the Philippians. Why? – “for all seek their own”. There are selfish men here and there who only seek their own interest, they want to have their way at all cost even though they profess to be Christians.

“not the things which are of Christ Jesus” – any man that will come naturally for your sake must be a man seeking the interest of Jesus; seeking to please Him and obey His commands.

“But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father” – He must be a man that has a son-Father relationship with God. He must not be a stranger to God.

“he served with me in the gospel” – Timothy was a selfless man. He had the capacity to serve alone in the gospel, establishing his own ministry and drawing men unto himself; rather his selflessness made him a servant. The Timothy whom God will bring you will be selfless, putting others first.

“ Therefore, I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it goes with me” – Your Timothy is not far away, he is very close. Your Timothy is coming unto you and his coming will be your comfort.

“But I trust in the Lord that I myself shall also come shortly” – God is not just sending Timothy to you, He is sending Himself unto you.

Those who will receive Timothy are those who will receive God. If you have received the Lord Jesus as your saviour, your Timothy is coming shortly.

I don’t know what has bothered your heart for a while now; frustrations in finding the right relationship, doubts and confusion on who God has prepared for you ,or an endless wait for the right person to show up.

  1. Thank you for this. It really spoke to me more on what God is bringing my way nd there are no accidents or chances or coincidence for those who are waiting on God.

  2. This really spoke to me! I’m literally in a waiting period right now! I’ll be transparent and say…I’ve gone through it with men. But, I’m trusting the Lord to release my Timothy in due season!

    God bless you!

  3. Great post, Paul! My husband is my Timothy and I am so glad God brought him to me. We have been married 33 years! This is great encouragement for those who are still looking.
